IFBB Professional League Pro Card Approval
In select circumstances, an athlete may be awarded IFBB Professional League status without competing at an official IFBB Pro Qualifier. A petition may be submitted by Nick Scott, the Official Representative of the Wheelchair Division for the NPC and IFBB Professional League, an IFBB Professional League Official, or an IFBB Professional League Promoter, requesting that an athlete's qualifications, competitive achievements, and contributions to the sport be formally reviewed by Jim Manion, President of the IFBB Professional League, NPC Worldwide, NPC USA, and NPC.
To be considered, the athlete must have an established competitive history and have demonstrated the physique, conditioning, presentation, and overall quality expected of an IFBB Professional League athlete. The petition may include the athlete's contest history, accomplishments, photographs, videos, overall impact on the sport, and any other supporting information that demonstrates the athlete has achieved the IFBB Pro standard.
Every petition is individually evaluated, and approval is granted solely at the discretion of Jim Manion and the IFBB Professional League. If the petition is approved, the athlete is officially awarded an IFBB Pro Card and recognized as an IFBB Professional League Athlete.
This process has historically been used in situations where IFBB Pro Wheelchair qualifying events were not available in the athlete's country or region, or when other exceptional circumstances warranted special consideration. This pathway recognizes athletes whose accomplishments, experience, and qualifications have demonstrated they are deserving of professional status despite not having the opportunity to earn their IFBB Pro Card through a traditional IFBB Pro Qualifier.
