I was born in Mexico and moved to the United States in the early 2000s seeking a better future. In 2017, my life changed dramatically when I was paralyzed in a work accident. Adjusting to my new reality was one of the greatest challenges I’ve ever faced and it took time to understand and accept what had happened. Through determination, I found strength in the gym. Fitness became more than exercise… It became a way to manage stress, ease pain, and rebuild my confidence. Inspired by that journey, I began competitive bodybuilding in 2020 and have continued to pursue the sport with passion and dedication. My greatest motivation has always been my wife and my children. Their love and support help me keep moving forward, even during the most difficult times. Today, I hope my story encourages others to face adversity with resilience, embrace new challenges, and never give up on their goals.
On August 26, 2017, I suffered a life-changing spinal cord injury while working on a construction site during the early morning hours around 1 a.m., when we were working at night to avoid the extreme heat. I was on the 7th floor when concrete was being poured. Unexpectedly, the floor structure gave way and collapsed beneath me. I fell to the 6th floor, and the impact broke my back and caused a complete spinal cord injury at T12–L1. During the collapse, I was also covered in cement, making the situation even more severe. Since that day, I have been living with paralysis and adjusting to life in a wheelchair, continuing to move forward despite the challenges.
