• What happened? Why are you in the Wheelchair?

  I was injured while working construction in 2007 when a slab of brick wall fell on me.

• Why did you get started?

  I started training to lose weight after a break up in 2014 and gaining weight during the months after.

• What made you want to compete?

  Attending Nick Scott’s wheelchair bodybuilding camp at Shriner’s Hospital for Children in 2008 and seeing how much fun he had with it. Also getting a message from Nick himself telling me that I needed to compete and show all my hard work that I had been putting in at the gym.

• How did you go about doing it?

  Started to change the way I trained for gaining size and being leaner instead of just training to lose weight.

• What motivates you?

  Being able to show the world around me that a wheelchair or other circumstances can only stop you if you let it. No one can determine your fate except for yourself.

• What suggestions or tips do you have for others?

  Don’t listen to the naysayers… do your thing, stay focused, and never stop pushing.
